Geoff Smith’s Banbury 15 2023 – 19 March
Race report by Mike:
The first race of this year’s Road Race Grand Prix series took place today over the testing Banbury 15 course.
In ideal conditions, James Bolton put in his usual strong performance to finish 5th and 1st V50 in 1 hour 27 mins 23 seconds. The ever-improving V40 Tom Preskett ran a creditable 1:41:41 for 22nd and Dave Cantwell belied his V50s tag with a respectable 1:50:11.
Former club skipper Kevin Game should be happy to clock 1:53:11 as can Liz O’Farrell our only female participant who averaged 9-minute miles for 2:16:09.
