Despite being a little short at the sharp end, all who took part put in some sterling efforts. A special word of congratulation to Sharron Sheppard who was 3rd LV35 amid some hot competition and to Colin Travi who managed 7.5-minute miling. Nicola Leavesley had an excellent first run for us and Susan Harrison rekindled memories of old triumphs on this course. Winning time: 20:47 Number of finishers:358

Sunday – 4th May 2008 – Neolithic Marathon

This was marathon number 5 for the year for Paul Brackett who has also completed one 40-miler, one 50K and one 35-miler. Paul set off too quickly and died in the last 3 miles. Winning time: 2:57:53 Number of finishers: 232.

Jason Barry, striving to regain his fitness, failed to get inside his target of 17 minutes but will have another opportunity next month in this 5K race series.

Dominic Croft recaptured the 100K UK championship title whilst captaining England to victory, achieving a personal best in the process. Winning time: 7:21:45 Number of finishers:25

Nicola Leavesley had a great debut 10K beating the 50-minute barrier. Carey Gray managed a top 50 finish whilst Nick Hall broke 40 minutes. Andy Pike just missed the same target. Winning time: 31:52 Number of finishers:2,666
